how it would be to travel the world and try different kinds of food around the world. Growing up I was raised on Mexican food no matter what my Grandma made there was always beans as one of our side dish and of course the tortillas. My grandma always told me no man is going to want a lazy woman so I learned how to cook at a young age, but Fridays were the best days cause my dad will take us out to eat instead of staying home and cooking or he would make some bar-b-q and oh man it was the best, but of course everyone that has a father or uncle or brother that cooks bar-b-q outside thinks their cooking is the best.
My grandma would always make the same food I was growing up and yes I got tiered of the same foods, so as I grew up moved out had kids of my own I like to cook some new things, there’s one recipe I found called Trash Can Cabbage its one of my favorites and really easy to make the main ingredients is Cabbage and Sausage its good to make when you don’t feel like cooking. One of my kids favorite dish is Spaghetti you can never go wrong with Spaghetti unless you don’t know how to cook it like my mother its one of the easiest meals to cook and she cant cook it. Italian is one of my favorite kind of foods I love the Shrimp pasta from the restaurant Antonio’s on Baker road here in Baytown they also have the best bread before you get your meal don’t you just love the free appetizers before your meal. I’ve tried to make some Italian pastas my self but there not as good as the restaurant.

I can never get tiered of the different Mexican foods thought and of course the Taco Trucks, now a days everywhere you go you will find a Taco truck my favorite is the mini tacos of Pastor you usually get about five tacos with cilantro, onions lime and jalapeno if you want it but you got to have the lime cause that’s the icing on the cake, there is also Gorditas, Tortats, Quesadillas and you cant forget the Menudo and the Pasole, some people say that Menudo and Pasole are the same and which they do both have the harmony in it but not the same meat Menudo is made with Pig and Pasole is made with Pork and they have a different flavor and of course we eat it on the mornings we have bad hangovers cause it helps it a lot with a mineral water on the side. I do not know how to make either of the two but I need to learn those are the best dish in Mexican food in my opinion and if you haven’t tried them you are missing out.

Everybody has their own opinion when it comes to bar-b-q but for me I love any bar-b-q that has a lot of flavor and different taste in the meats, some people when they cook different meats all the meats have the same flavor. My dad has his own little special why of cooking a brisket he likes to soak it in Italian dressing the night before and than cooking it in a pit outside wrapped in foil to keep the flavor inside, the best brisket is when you pull it apart and it just slide write off and very tender and soft to eat and all the juice is on the plate where you can soak your bread of tortilla in it and eat it while you are eating the brisket. There’s also the side dish when eating the brisket you have your potato salad, beans, rice and you can forget the Chile wither its just jalapenos or a homemade Chile made by them also the jalapeno bacon wraps that are made with cream cheese in the middle those are the best when it comes to and appetizer as soon as you take the first bite with the juice and cream cheese mixed together and having the bacon flavor on the outside once you have one you, you cant stop yourself from eating them until your mouth is on fire. So than you have the wings and my opinion on wings if you make wings you have to make all different kinds of flavors cause just one flavor is boring and my favorite our the lemon pepper and you have to cook them just right to where the are still juicy when you bite them and the flavor just runs down your throat and the best place to by wings in my opinion is Wing stop they have the best lemon Pepper but everybody has their own opinion when it come to food because we all have our own different taste buds. So if you have never been out and tried a Taco truck you must try one and there is one by the White Elephant on I-10 and I must say it’s really good just don’t know the name of the food truck.
I love the variety of foods! trash can cabbage though, I feel like the name would make me want to turn it away!!
ReplyDeleteYummy! Need come eat with you. I make something like the trash can cabbage using potatoes and stewed tomatoes with chicken broth.Making it like a soup. I add cornbread as a side.

ReplyDeleteYour love for food really shines through. Your descriptions of food and the flavors make the reader hungry. Just be very careful with your sentence structure. Trying to break some of the larger sentences down into several sentences would make it easier to read. I feel like I need to go eat some bar-b-que now.
ReplyDeleteAre you talking about don julios or juan taco truck right before getting to the intersection of the flea market? because he is a friend to my oldest sister and i remember eating there every weekend and you are not lying!!! The tacos there are delicious!!! and I avoided looking at the pictures because as soon as i saw them I got really hungry!!! but i love your blog!!!

DeleteYour description of food was good, I could already picture it! Your paragraphs seem to all have went in together, making it just one paragraphs. I think just a little more spacing would of been best.
