Growing up everybody had a different life styles, I like to say that mine was interesting but yet scary sometimes to. I was raised on a ranch what we liked to called it La Perez Rancho, we lived about 5 miles out of a little town called Mathis. As we woke up in the morning we didn’t need an alarm because the roasters will be up at the crack of dawn waking you up, I say we cause it was family that lived all around cousins aunts, uncle and grandparents. Every other weekend we would go with our Welito to sale or buy animals at the Livestock, we would raise pigs cows, horse and we even had a blind cow that everybody was scared of even thought she was blind. Since we had so much land of course someone had to cut the grass so each of us kids had a part to cut but the scary part about it was you never know what you would come across, wither we were cutting the grass or just playing outside or feeding the animals we always had to be alert for anything and when I say alert for snakes or big tarantulas. Everytime it would ran is when the tarantulas would come out man I hated those thing so much I hated for it to rain, in my house we would always find little spiders but in my cousins house she would find snakes. One morning as we were getting ready for school it was raining so my mother tells me to close all the windows in the house, so as I go and close them there is one window that has a whole on the screen as I started to close it I looked down and there was a tarantula walking in the whole I jumped so high and ran to my mother and told her what was coming in but of course she wasn’t getting near it so luckily my dad got rained out form work he was home, he got a jar and let it walk in there to keep it as a pet. Later that day when we got home from school we had my dad put the jar outside cause we couldn’t deal with it inside the house so he did, as night time came and we had to take our showers and get ready for bed I decide to take a shower first, so I get undressed get in the shower and close the curtain as soon as I close it there is another tarantula on the curtain I swing that curtain back open grab an towel and take off running to my grandmas house right next door my dad thought I was crazy and went running behind me to see what was going on as he got to my grandmas house behind me he tells me what the hell is wrong with you and I told him there’s another tarantula in the restroom, so he ran home to check and my sister had already killed it with a frying pan. As the week ended and the weekend came I went to stay at my cousins house which was just next door, we had a little sleep over which we played dress up or Barbie’s or whatever we could thing of, so as we started to play dress up of course we had to get some clothes so I went into her dresser to grab some clothes as I open the dresser drawer to get some clothe I notice what I thought was a fake snake toy so I tell me cousin hahah trying to scare me with a fake snake and she response with what fake snake and I was already grabbing for it as she said that and when I went for it the snake moved, so I jumped on the bed as my cousin did to and we both started to
scream, her dad walked in the room and said again what tha hell is wrong with you two and we tell him there’s a snake in the drawer so he looks and grabs it and says its just a damn grass snake you chicken shits. I decided I wanted to go home and sleep with my dad cause I was scared so my uncle walked me home my dad asked what happen and I told him and he told me to just go to sleep. The worst kind of snake I have ever seen was a rattlesnake and a pretty big one to, as I was playing outside one day when my uncles dog just keep barking so he came out side to check and there was a really big rattlesnake next to the dog ready to attack one my uncle saw it he went back inside got his shot gun and shot it that was the biggest snake I have ever seen. I do miss living out in the Rancho with my family but I don’t think I would like to have my kids out there from the experience I had growing up but I do tell my kids all the interesting stories I have and when we visit I don’t let them leave my side, these are stories to tell my grandchildren.
I'm terrified of spiders and my bf's terrified of snakes. I told him the story and he was like uh-uh I wouldn't even step foot outside!
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine having to grow up dealing with tarantulas and that snake picture---oh my goodness!! It definitely sounds like you have quite some stories that you could tell. Just be careful again with your sentences and it will make it easier to read.
ReplyDeleteAs soon I saw the spider I cringed, oh man how i hate spiders, and also the snake in the picture just grosses me out. Ive never encountered one in my farm or house and i hope i never do,
ReplyDeleteI do not like insects at all!!! I couldn't do it! Like the other blog there is no paragraphs just one big story.
ReplyDeleteReally vivid Story! I like how versatile you were with the creatures, but some paragraphs would be nice rather than one big story!
ReplyDeleteI hate spiders and snakes, but the best memories you have will always be in ranchos. We would go for the whole summer to my granpas ranch and it was a love hate kind of thing, but I would never be able to live out there.
ReplyDeleteVery detailed! only thing there is no paragraphs
ReplyDeleteGood story, But no paragraphs. Sounds like you have a memory for a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have yourself some great memories. Very descriptive just the paragraphs I would say.
